Aadhaar has become a near-mandatory document for ration cards, bank accounts, Voter ID, school admissions, and almost every government scheme. For residents of Udakishunganj and Madhepura district, several corrections — like linking a mobile number — can be started online, while biometric updates require an in-person visit to a centre.

What can be done online

  • Address, name spelling, date of birth, email — via OTP verification on the myAadhaar portal (some corrections need supporting documents)
  • Linking or changing your mobile number — this must be done in person at a centre, it is not OTP-based
  • Downloading e-Aadhaar and ordering an Aadhaar PVC card

What requires a visit to a centre

Biometric updates (fingerprint/iris scan, photo change), mobile number registration, and the mandatory biometric updates required at ages 5 and 15 all require visiting a nearby Aadhaar Seva Kendra, a bank-branch Aadhaar enrolment centre, or a Vasudha Kendra. Several bank branches in Madhepura district — including Central Bank of India, Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank, and UCO Bank — offer Aadhaar services.

Keep in mind: children's Aadhaar (Bal Aadhaar) must be biometrically updated at ages 5 and 15, or the card can become inactive. Check this before school admission season.
