This page compiles publicly available Election Commission information as of August 2026. Form numbers, portal features, and electoral-roll revision timelines can change — always confirm with the official Election Commission of India portal or your Booth Level Officer (BLO) before applying.
Any Indian citizen aged 18 or above residing in Udakishunganj block can apply online for a Voter ID (EPIC — Elector's Photo Identity Card). Beyond voting, this card is widely accepted as identity proof for ration cards, bank accounts, and several government schemes.
How to apply for a new Voter ID (Form 6)
- Register with your mobile number on voters.eci.gov.in and select "New Registration for General Electors" (Form 6)
- Upload age proof (birth certificate/10th marksheet), address proof (ration card, electricity bill, Aadhaar), and a photo
- Select your assembly constituency and polling station — Udakishunganj-area residents should choose the relevant constituency
- After submission, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) may visit for verification
Correcting name, address, or photo (Form 8)
If your surname changed after marriage, your address changed, or your card has an incorrect photo or date of birth, corrections can be filed through Form 8 on the portal. The same form is used to remove your name from one constituency and add it to another after moving.
Checking application status & helpline
After submitting, track your status using the reference number under "Track Application Status" on voters.eci.gov.in. For any issues, call the voter helpline at 1950.
The bottom line
Applying for or correcting a Voter ID is completely free and can be done online from home. For related document needs, see our ration card application guide.
